The Datasym 2020 is a store-forward retail ECR/POS terminal which offers all of the functionality of most sophisiticated POS systems, yet priced significantly less. This terminal is uniquely pre-configured for "out-of-the-box" installation. The Datasym 2020 has the capability for inter-register communications (IRC), as well as direct or remote PC communications. It also has a port to accommodate data from a mag strip reader, plus one additional port which is configurable for peripherals such as scanners, scales, coin dispensers, etc. Optionally, a 4 Port I/O Card for additional connectivity and a 512K RAM board is available, increasing the base system of 5,000 PLUs to 15,000 PLUs.

From a software/firmware standpoint, the Datasym 2020 offers the identical features and functionality of the D2000 enhancement product. A "quick service" hospitality terminal (Datasym 2010) is also available. The unique feature of these new products is that they can be combined in a single IRC chain and be seamless with PC communciations. The affordable Datasym 2020 is the ideal choice for high traffic specialty retail, liquor and C-stores.
