Information about recycled paper...

Some of our customers don't realize that using lower quality paper (recylcled) is actually detrimental to the performance of their equipment. The reason is that when the print head passes over the paper, and the pins fire to create the characters, two things are happening. First, the pins have to fire further to impact the thinner recycled paper, causing equipment failure a lot sooner than would happen with higher quality paper. Second, as the characters are formed, there is some element of the recycled paper which comes away from the paper, causing a paper dust build up which can clog sensors, and jam moving parts. What you save per box, you will eventually have to pay anyways on a service call to repair printer trouble! We are environmentally friendly in our office, using recycled materials whenever possible, but it is not recomended for use in cash registers.
